I finally had a chance to look at the video of mtg firing the Barrett .50 cal rifle. And, no… just no.

That videoed explosion is not what a .50 cal does. It puts a big hole in things and can go through a lot of concrete or some steel. It can go near two miles fairly accurately. But that explosion was, I strongly suspect, done with explosives manually set off under the car

I’ve seen 155mm HE shells directly hit cars. The car body can go flying quite impressively, or be rapidly disassembled, and any gas in the fuel tank might be set on fire. But, I’ve never seen such an explosion without a lot of explosives placed in the car and separately detonated.

Looks to me to be a case of performative nonsense.
