Reading Bret Stephens’ whinge about people upset because people call them out on their racist and bigoted opinions:

In the proverbial land of the free, people live in mortal fear of a moral faux pas. Opinions that were considered reasonable and normal a few years ago are increasingly delivered in whispers.

Being Bret Stephens, he has this completely wrong. The problem is that, while a few years ago people felt some inhibition about saying racist and bigoted things, they increasingly feel disinhibited.

Plus, you know, a lot of what people feel like others are shaming them for are things they should be ashamed of. AND Conservatives are constantly conflating having their opinions challenged with being deprived of free speech.
