The line “No good deed goes unpunished” comes to mind. If they do something with the logo, they’d better be careful not to offend someone.


I have to say that I disagree with you. Although I agree with Charles when he said that they at least are doing something for Memorial Day this year. And that he thinks we should all take a breath and let it be what it is — an attempt to commemorate the day — long overdue maybe, but one for which Charles’ welcomes it.
But as has been demonstrated Alouette in #1, stated by buzz in his #25 and by others out here, this was clearly a minimalist attempt by Google to commenorate Memorial Day. Compare it to say Dogpile (see MissCrabtree at #20).
In fact, I’m not - given the various interpretations commented upon by many LGFer’s out here about the yellow ribbon- as sure as is Charles that it was intended to commenorate Memorial Day.
