Without trying to pimp the posts—well, not much, anyway—my comments on Gran Torino are in the “Tour de France” thread, and the comment which starts the series is currently in the top ten. You may find the conversation interesting.

It’s recommended reading, ping. Though it was difficult for me to watch, I saw Gran Torino, but buzz exposes some juxtapositions here that never occurred to me, and probably never would have. And they were spot-on.

(And I’m honestly not just saying that because I’m Secretary of the Buzzsawmonkey Fan Club.)
