This is not a question of who need what. I don’t know a single actor or artist in the Denver area that believes that they should be doing art on the public dole. Take it from someone who has worked, part time, in the regional art scene for over 40 years.

The NEA. The whole caricature of performance artists shampooing with thousand island dressing while delivering a monologue denouncing the conservative straight white male middle class American taxpayer, and being paid for it with my taxes. Kind of colors my outlook sometimes.
