It looks like another “unexpected” consequence will be a renewed Scottish independence referendum and perhaps even Irish reunification. I can see the Ulster Protestants resolving to pursue a future in a loose confederation with the Irish Republic rather than with continued connection to England (we can no longer speak of the United kingdom) especially if it means erecting a border wall and customs barrier across their internal border.
