the violent mob wasn’t just to seize the capitol and take over Congress.

He intended a decapitation strike. The VP, Speaker, and Senate president were all present at the time. The next 3 in the line of succession. He wanted them all dead.

Maybe I’m being naive here but I just don’t think that was his intention. His only focus was on getting re-elected and delaying the vote, throwing the determination into the House; deaths of legislators were not on his playlist.
