Don’t they feel like frauds with Sir Paul and Robert Plant there? Stairway and /insert favorite Beatle song here/ will be around long after no one remembers their songs, I would think.

Well since neither a Zeppelin or a Beatle song were up for a nomination I think Coldplay deserves to be there. And while I’m not putting Chris Martin and Co. in the realm of the aforementioned giants they are pretty good. I was skeptical of Coldplay initially but I finally gave them a chance three or four years ago and they now rank in the top 3 of my all time favorite active bands of the last 30 years. Okay, maybe top 5. Unfortunately Chris Martin is a complete leftist with a crazy hatred of George Bush that is pretty unsettling but I have to separate the music from the man. And he named his kid Apple….
