A friend posted this on FB this morning:

Circa 1970 Boy Scout uniform shirt with a Confederate battle flag on the sleeve. This is from Troop 536 in Lubbock, Texas. The friend was in Troop 536 in the 80s and they definitely did not use a Confederate flag by that time.
For my part, I left the Boy scouts for the Civil Air Patrol when I turned 13. Besides actual airplanes, they had cooler looking uniforms than the scouts and these were provided free of charge (a consideration for my cash strapped parents). They also had girls, a factor I was beginning to notice.
