Hence the entire purpose of the exercise: Turning a politically hazardous story of Trump pardoning a man who’d already plead guilty twice into yet another “law enforcement out of control!” story where the guy who knew he was breaking the law is really the “victim” and the real villains of the story are the agents who “entrapped” him.
