Did your school district do all that integrated math nonsense? I swear, that was just the worst thing for my kid. Before they messed with it, you had Math 1,2 and then Algebra 1,2, Trig, Calc, Geometry,Statistics and then Physics and Chemistry all separate classes, with only the Math and Algebra being required for graduation(with Physics required as part of the science credits). After the changes, Math 1&2 was combined with Algebra(which then created a Math 3 class) which also taught trig and statistics ALL AT ONCE. It was a mess. The classes moved so fast there was no time for anyone who fell behind and no alternative for kids who were not ever going to be able to get through anything past Algebra. Half of his graduating class failed the graduation test the first time it was given.
