re: #167 goddamnedfrank
Honestly why the hell are people calling 911 at all for non emergencies and why are the cops humoring that fuckery in the first place. Iāve literally only called 911 a couple of times that I can recall, once here when my Dad fell and suffered an interochanteric hip fracture and once in Seattle when I witnessed an aggravated domestic assault in the parking lot below my apartmentās kitchen window. 911 doesnāt exist for people to voice their vague suspicions, itās there for real shit.
Iām way late on this, and I donāt know if itās the same everywhere, but it used to be you could call the police in your precinct and they would at a minimum know where you were and how to get there. For the last 35 years, at least in Seattle/King County, the cops have had an unlisted number, and the only way to communicate with them is 911.
Youāre talking to a dispatcher somewhere to hell and gone in the South End, you canāt explain to them where youāre located, and if youāre not reporting a murder, theyāll either laugh in your face or threaten you with what the penalty is for making a frivolous 911 call. Or both.
