Interesting article with numbers. TL;DR version: this round of redistricting, Dems have unified control of more states and are using it more aggressively; TX seems to be using gerrymandering more for incumbent protection, which is the opposite of what you want to do to maximize seats; and gerrymandering in the red midwest states is just bouncing the rubble at this point.
