Niall Ferguson has fot an OpEd in the NYT today titled “Scots Must Vote Nae”. My favorite ‘graph:

I’ve spent a fair amount of time north of Hadrian’s wall, and Niall is dead spot on.

I caught a piece on NPR this afternoon saying about the same thing about David Cameron’s speech on the subject. That basically telling the Scots “You better not do that” is the best way to get them to figure ‘doing it must be a good idea’.

I have no dog in this fight, so I’m watching with just an academic interest.
