I think that John Stewart said it best and this was back in 2006/2007 when Iran Kidnapped those British Sailors…

And bombing wouldn’t be the least bit controversial. The Iranian regime is widely hated and feared. And there’s plenty of precedent for us blowing up shit in the Middle East when it threatens us or allies.
