I’m sitting here fighting the urge to buy. Not a nonspecific “I gotta SHOP!!!” urge, but rather the urge to buy something I will need to buy anyway.

We make it a rule not to buy anything on Black Friday, my wife especially. But, I got a package with the parts I need to tune up the Bianchi - cables and housing, new bar tape (in Celeste, of course), and the G-springs and carrier for the shifters I wrote about last week. I went ahead and rebuilt the shifter*, but in the process of pulling the rubber hood off, I tore it, so I need a new one. I found them on Amazon, even in Celeste. I had to stop myself hitting they ‘purchase’ button. Must…not…buy. Must…maintain…purchasing…purity…

*WW - it turned out one of the ‘G-springs’ was broken. And it’s not all that hard to take ‘em apart and put ‘em back together. So much GREASE, though!
