Contempt hearing against Arpaio begins

So far testimony has shown Arpaio told his staff to disregard the court orders, failed to implement training he was ordered to conduct, continued to target minorities, and had his officers investigate the Judge and his family.

That’s a really good start to these proceedings. I hope the judge throws the book at Arpaio as harshly as possible while still keeping things legal. It wouldn’t do to give Arpaio a chance to escape justice by over-reaching.

Of course it has to be noted that the real problem here is the majority of Maricopa county voters who affirmatively vote for a thug like Arpaio as county sheriff.
