I saw that yesterday, too. It was through some kind of sports stadium. I didn’t watch them actually going through (I’m not much of a biking enthusiast that I want to watch it on TV) but it struck me as being rather unique.

yesterday was the final Individual Time Trial, they started and finished in the stadium.
I’ve seen races use stadiums and airfields before.
This usage is directly related to Frances bid for the 2024 Summer Olympics
