Trump has always been, and always will be, a selfish spoiled brat. And that is why his supporters love him so much. He is what they want to be. They absolutely hate they can’t whine and scream and stiff people out of money. He says and acts exactly how they would love to act, but can’t because if they did it, they would be fired, dumped or abandoned.

I finally get it. Trump appeals to his supporters deep, unfulfilled selfishness. For decades they have long desired to tell minorities to get out, or gays to go back into the closet, or women to be more subservient to men. They’ve wanted to play golf all day while doing nothing but complain for a living. They’ve wanted to spend other people’s money like a drunken sailor and not worry about the financial consequences.

He did, and it inspired them. But that party is over. It’s back to reality and back to maturity.
