Speaking of international events in the 1980s, I’m still trying to draw a timeline on when the anti-Apartheid movement began picking up momentum here in the USA…

South Africa was really putting the hurt on not just Angolan commies, but also the Cubans and their Soviet sugar daddies in what’s been called ‘The Border War’. Did the American left only embrace the anti-Apartheid movement once it was becoming clear that Botah’s South Africa was running roughshod over Angola’s MPLA and their Cuban advisors?
