There was a quote in the paper from a lady who supported the 51st State initiative here in Colorado - she might have been one of the county commissioners. She was excited that her kids might get to grow up in a state based on ‘self-reliance’ like ‘living in the 1800s’.

I don’t think she has any clue how tough that was.

Why someone would want to romanticize a time when freezing to death was not an uncommon way to die is beyond me.

She can start by giving up her car, electricity, plumbing, internet, store bought food, cold/flu meds for the kids. Let’s see how long SHE lasts.
