Friend of my grandmother’s got one of those calls about how apparently you had one a million dollars and you just had to send a 250 dollar check in the mail and the money was yours or something like that. She decided to humor the guy by trying to get as much information as she could about him. That shit is just wrong though. Preying on the elderly.

This is what the 419’ers and other scammers do. Old people are the easiest marks, because they tend to be isolated (thus less informed) and because they are often emotionally vulnerable and easy to hook with a sob story. This is why the community of scambaiters exist - to tie up the scammers with pointless bullshit so that they spend less time targeting others who don’t know better.
