The other thing? For all that the MGB looked dazzlingly modern when introduced in 1962, and had such advances a unibody construction, it used the same suspension (Armstrong lever shock absorbers as upper control arms) as the TD, the engine was already 15 years old, the rear suspension was also an ancient design, and the gearbox was non-synchro first gear.

It was fun, and fun to drive, but it was really a pretty, modern face on mechanics dating nearly to the War.
