Really? So when this decision was rendered, what was the case? Did someone come up and say, “You know, there really is a wall of separation that exists between church and state.” Tell me what the case was about when this great statement was made.

IIRC, Jefferson’s letter was first cited in Reynolds v United States, in the 1870s.

So I agree…you apparently do need me to tell you about these things.
