What I can’t understand is how Jim Hoft thought holding a Tea Party rally in a riled-up lefty college town was a good idea. He should have held it in Fond du Lac or somewhere else that is Republican territory. Heck, even Milwaukee would have been better than Madison.

He did it for maximum effect as a way to thumb their nose at the surroundings from what I understand. A way to say “F*** YOU” to those they disagree with more than rallying support among their own side.

I’ve got a ready made analogy for this choice of action, but I’d rather not Godwin myself againso let me see if I can think of another.
