Agreed. The important factor is they are not immune from their own choices. Continuing to fight a war that was lost almost 80 years ago has consequences. If the same situation had happened 100 years ago there would be genocide and complete annihilation. They are taking advantage of their victor’s good graces. If the Japanese or Germans had tried the same model of irresponsible resistance beyond all hope just 20-30 years previous the result would have been much different. They are taking advantage of a modern loophole in development and kindness to their own detriment. It’s a shitty thing to do.
