Temper the latitude location with the fact that Savannah is at sea level. Jersualem is at about 2500ft above sea level. That’s why Tel Aviv, which is roughly the same latitude, is seeing only rain, but Jerusalem is getting heavy snow (both in quantity and quality - it’s the heavy dense stuff and not the light fluffy kind) - same kind of difference between coastal Georgia and the inland hills/mountains of Georgia and Carolinas.
