I buy everything - even groceries - on my credit card, then pay it off in full every month. This gets me the reward points without having to pay the interest or carry a balance. Most of the purchases that wind up carrying over are emergency spending, like large-scale maintenance projects on one of the Fishmobiles.

yep, that’s what we do here in the Backwoods house. 5% cashback adds up when usual cash/check transactions get put on the card and paid off in full every month.
