re: #202 Fat Bastard Vegetarian

Good morning FBV! I think I have found a great diet that anyone can easily do.

Professor loses 27 pounds on junk food diet

Mark Haub, a nutrition professor at Kansas State University, posed a simple question to his students: “Is it really soda and chips that are making people obese, or how much of them they eat?”

Haub then set about answering that question for them, by eating an 1,800-calorie-a-day diet comprised mostly of junk food, such as Twinkies, Oreos, and Doritos, for two months and losing 27 pounds.

That’s right. Haub lost 27 pounds on a high-carb, low-calorie diet.

In the process, he reduced his body mass index from the overweight category to normal, decreased his LDL cholesterol (the bad kind) and increased his HDL cholesterol (the good kind).

In other words, he’s proved once and for all that losing weight boils down to what nutritionists and most other health experts have long been saying: losing weight is a matter of burning more calories than you eat in a day, and it doesn’t matter if those calories are in the form of fat (butter), protein (meat) or carbohydrates (Ding Dongs).

Take that all you crazy fad dieters!
