True enough, but it also makes him undesirable to the party base. They’re looking for somebody who not simply sips the Tea Party kool-aid, but is chugging it with gusto. And he’s simply not it, because he’s actually willing to stand up and call the loons out.

Seriously, if I thought he’d make it to the general “as-is,” I might be tempted to vote for him. But I said the same thing months ago ‘bout Romney and have proceeded to watch him lick the base’s boots in hopes that they’ll forget he was ever a party moderate.

I am not impressed with any of the current GOP candidates. My mother is a registered Dem and voted for Obama and against GWB. She told me everyone she knows is very satisfied with Christie right now. If my mother tells me that from NJ, I can believe it.

Don’t underestimate Chris Christie.
