There’s quite a bit of truth in that. How many times have we read of some half-baked nutjob blowing himself to kingdom come while trying to make a bomb, or making an IED that fails to go boom?

Even the people who know what they are doing usually end up missing a few fingers after awhile of tinkering with these things.
