My reflection is that there are some opinions I find so offensive and beyond the pale of logic and reason I have a harder time accepting a change of heart on them than others. I think pretty much everyone would, upon reflection, agree.

I would not necessarily trust words alone, but I am willing to give people the chance to put actions into practice - and if their actions are consistent with the change of heart, I am willing to give them credit for it.
