Pournelle would have nothing to do with these fools. He’s a right-of-center fellow, but he understands practicalities and would correctly call these fools ‘reactionaries’.

I’m thinking more along the lines of the racism that wells up in books like “Lucifer’s Hammer”, where the brave, resourceful, and almost uniformly white farmers and ranchers defend themselves against the cannibalistic hordes of urban blacks.

To my shame, when I first read it I didn’t perceive just how deeply racist it was.
