Thing is, even in 1984, cosplaying in blackface or Klan garb was not only racist af, but it was very visible backlash against black folks and the civil rights fights of the 50s-70s IMO, something that was still in very recent memory. If Northam was indeed involved in that shit, then he should resign as governor and slink off out of politics, because it was just as wrong when he did it as it is now.
