The United States, Russia, China, France and England (maybe Israel) all have their nuclear deterrents hidden on way or another. Either under the water (subs) (This is the only ICBMs France and England have) or in trucks (Yes the Russians have huge truck they move around carrying ICBMs) or in hardened silos.

North Korea, and maybe Iran in the future just won’t have the throw weight for an effective first strike.

I’m not a military genius, but I’m not sure how a first strike with nukes wouldn’t be effective. And I (think) I understand throw weight. What if it was an unconventional delivery system?
