The Oath Keepers aren’t just skating on a very fine line between engaging in free speech but are openly agitating for a violent confrontation with their statements. As you say, they’re heavily armed and these statements can be taken to indicate incitement to violence, or at a minimum hoping to force government officials to back down from their lawful activities, including operating under color of law to fulfill their duties (like making sure that idiot clerks do their jobs and don’t violate the 1A), allowing sheriffs and other federal officials to carry out lawful detention for contempt if it comes to that, etc.

The more the Oath Keepers show their cards, the more they reveal themselves to be a terror group that operates lawlessly and with the hope of causing violent confrontation so as to fulfill their violent fantasies.
