I’m trying to figure out if “Lady” is really her first name or some kind of weird Texas royalty title.

Name, but more typically Texan than USian. Basically due to a lot of parents proudly naming daughters after Claudia Alta Johnson and not knowing “Lady Bird” was a nickname.

I’m wrong. See re: #35 Decatur Deb for correct statement.
