Also ludwig, lets throw a hypothetical out there.

What about some guy in malaysia. He really thinks he wants the destruction of Israel, but he’s in a small villiage and will never get to a training camp, or even meet a real terrorist. He still wants your people killed.

Should he die?

Let’s take this a little further into the ral world and out of the fairytale land you wish it were.

Consider a 19 year old German kid raised on Hitler youth and sent to freeze, suffer horrible privation and die miserably in Stalingrad.

He was likely a good kid at heart. Under circumstances that did not involve him being brainwashed by a life of propaganda, you and I might even like him. He likely loved him family and his nation.

I am perfectly willing to count him as another victim of the Nazis.

However, not killing him means letting the Nazis win. Therefore, however deeply tragic it was, his death was necessary. If you have just discovered that one of the greatest tragedies of war is that it cuts down the innocent as well as the guilty, then understand it, move on and look at the bigger picture. It is a horrible picture, No sane person should ever wish for it. However, if it is thrust upon you, you must fight to win. Winning means killing people who in other circumstances you would not have animus to.
