re: #210 oaktree

My brother (a college science prof) usually gives one of his intro classes some water sample collection containers and has them get 3-4 samples of water from different locations for analysis.

A pet “Drinkwell” sample came up with e. coli in it due to pet cleaning habits. Water from the urinal in the bathroom down the hall came out relatively clean. Sort of like analysis showing sidewalks with lower bacteria counts than kitchen floors. Surface composition, exposure to sunlight, and what traffics through there are simply interesting in how they affect things like this.

I saw the results of a study on free bowls of peanuts in bars one time. The e. coli levels were frightening. It seems bar patrons has some bad hygene issues too.
