“The Right” are not all batshit crazy. Besides, there is too much political anger and confrontation out there now. Getting someone in who will “tear the GOP a new one” will not help things. Calm is needed. Someone who can be a peacemaker. More anger and vitriol will make matters worse.

Except Obama has been trying reason and they aren’t having any because it doesn’t play well with the morons who now make up the base of the GOP for the most part.

I don’t think vitriol is necessary, it’s more useful to show their arguments to be the fluff that they are with wit and sarcasm. Ridicule is much more useful. But you got to be able to make that resonate with the very people who are swallowing the bull shit without even needing any ketchup.
