My parents were fans of the elder Bush because he was a Republican. Real party-line thinkers, those two. Rush Limbaugh die-hards and conservative Christian Republicans to the last.

I think my parents were too busy raising my brother and I to really think about politics. I’ll admit, Bush 41 is a man who’s grown on me in recent years. I still have some problems with him, i.e. the Horton Ad but I think he’s been a terrific former president and I really do feel the GOP needs more like him today.
