Between this, and the reaction to the Isla Vista shooting, I really find myself saddened and disgusted by a significant chunk of American humanity. Christ, was it always this bad? It sure didn’t seem so. Was this streak of revoltingly vile hate always there, somehow hidden, and got revealed? Or is the hate a reaction to fear of lost privilege and control that’s relatively new?

Whatever.

I almost wish I didn’t know about it. My wife asks me why I bother discussing politics online, since it obviously doesn’t do any good, and just makes me upset.
