Lie after lie, witch hunt after witch hunt - all of which found nothing. She’s probably the most thoroughly investigated person in the world, and they keep finding nothing.

Did HRC do some things that hurt her, while themselves being innocent? Oh, yeah. But, my god, the number of times she’s been accused of stupid things on no evidence! And the number of times that innocent things have been misconstrued to be evidence of evil!

I don’t know how to fight that, any more than I know how to fight lying promises to do things that literally cannot be done.

This will sound like mere bitter partisanship, but the Right seems willing to transgress any of the rules and traditions we used to use to keep the country together in order to win. I believe this is their response to demographic inevitability - if you can’t win, cheat.

I’m not sure we can win without being willing to be as dirty as they are, and if we did, would we be any better than they are? And in the end, do I care? Do I have to outdo my enemy in all the things that I despise about him in order to defeat him? Am I willing to do that?

in a political battle between Lies and Truth, Lies will often win. That’s just a brute fact at this point.

Perhaps this is how democracy is ultimately doomed to fail.
