The political spectrum has shifted. I recall fondly will liberals like Daniel Patrick Moynihan, and moderates like Scoop Jackson ruled the (D)s. Where would they be now?

the toxic allure of liberalism is strong…the beast consumes the will and softens American fighting spirit, personal liberties dwindle away until you never know you had them…too many people, too many self interests…it’s a feast for the power mongers and professional pols…I despise liberalism
