The problem is that a lot of people, such as my friend, don’t have that tuned meter. The really groovy thing is that she’s now giving me the opportunity sometimes to debunk the bullshit before she starts believing it. I got to get in a whole bunch of good shots on our 20 minute walk to give her good stuff to think about.

It’s the emotional response more than anything, the kind that goes off soundbites and news blips. Newt makes a big deal about the EPA going after Arizona over dust and the response is not “Is that true?” but rather “That’s stupid! You can’t blame people for dust!”
