I love my mom. I was still horrified to hear her last week describe MLK as a “rabble rouser”.

I know she is of the Fox News demographic and was a blue dog conservative democrat (before they went extinct or became Republicans)…so I pretend not to hear her or change the subject since I dont want a fight on her visit in my home and there is no chance in hell I will budge her opinion (her bumper sticker says “God said It. I believe It. That settles It!”)

When you have parents entering their 70’s, you pick your battles.

My mom’s hate is closer to home. My strategy is avoidance. Difficult for a few days there, but back on track.
