I guess he did not read the Amendments. First Amendment begins with; “Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion …”

They seem to think that the Constitution and all the other governing documents* are like the Bible and that they can cherry pick something to say what they want it to while ignoring everything else and any possible context. And, of course, if they cannot find an explicit quote to use they can make something up since the base never fact checks anyways.

* - Except for the Federalist Papers since that Hamilton guy is sus.
