However, as is common, the law of unintended consequences sticks its big nose in here. As a result of this disaster there is now a moratorium on off-shore drilling for 6 months. Longer period, increased (and rightfully so) regulations will impact oil drilling. Also, with a loss of capital (and capitalization) BP will be less able to afford other exploratory ventures.

In the end, everyone gets to pay for this mess.

Problem is, there are other innocent drilling companies and oil companies that will be affected my the six month (and I PRAY no longer) moratorium on off shore drilling

Guess the unemployment lines in and around the gulf are gonna get bigger!
