Those who call themselves “conservative”.

There is no universally accepted definition of “conservative”, and perhaps there can’t be (as it is locale dependent to some extent.)

I also use that because in the blogosphere the past few years there has been lots of heat generated by some who lament that so-and-so is not a “true” conservative. (We saw lots of that with McCain.)
