I also have read that Obama was very invested in re-invigorating the separation of powers, as a constitutional lawyer/professor and from personal preference, and tried very hard to get the legislature to initiate things. It drove me crazy, for example, during the long drawn-out health care initiative.

I suspect Clinton has less interest in getting things done the “right way” and more in just getting things done. Which would be troubling for the republic if the legislature had shown any interest in doing their jobs the past few years…
